Conservation
Alpine Guides works closely with NZ's Department Of Conservation to ensure we minimise the impact of our activities on the mountain environment.
Most of our mountain trips take place in national parks and world heritage areas - beautiful and fragile environments. We have a policy of carrying out all waste from each trip. No rubbish is left behind or burnt.
If camping away from huts (and hut toilets) we also carry out human waste - in special containers called "poo pots". Please join us in endorsing the philosophy of, “Take only photographs, leave only footprints”.
