Across The Main Divide

Alpine Guides 8-day guided alpine crossing, "Across The Main Divide" is fashioned after classic mountain journeys. You must be a fit mountaineer with abseiling skills and glacier travel experience.

A journey across the Southern Alps

We fly to Pioneer hut at the head of Fox Glacier - then travel on foot across the Southern Alps, back to Mt Cook village. On the way you'll be privileged to experience some of New Zealand's most dramatic mountain scenery. From the Tasman Sea and West Coast temperate rain forests, to vast U-shaped glacial valleys and dry Mackenzie grasslands.

Book before late-summer

We recommend booking to start before mid-February. Crevassing through Graham Saddle in late season can "cut off" the route.
